analysis of how post-production techniques, processes and tools are used to create meaning
An editing technique that has been implemented into my section of the opening sequence to create meaning are transitions these have been used within the opening sequence at various scenes such as the scene where the student who has just arrived into class (protagonist) looks around the room at each student who is present with there being transitions to every student this is done to provide a clear overview of who is part of the story line and their identities as students within the sequence and gives the audience a clear but brief insight into the nature of all the characters that are shown. Another example of the use of transitions is shown towards the end right after the blackout had occurred and the class is shocked as they find the teacher dead right in front of their eyes. This is done to create suspense and change the mood of the overall atmosphere as the situation escalates to a dangerous extent for the rest of the class due to the murder that has been committed and they are completely unaware of who it has been committed by therefore creates tension amongst the group.
Another editing technique that is used is sounds such as the use of music which is used within the beginning of the opening sequence which is done to help provide an establishment to the situation, this also helps to elevate the introduction for the audience which therefore keeps them intrigued in the film and keeps the audience interested in the story-line. Background sounds have also been used at 2:42 where chaos pursues within the class as chairs, tables etc are heard being thrown around or pushed indicating the class is in a state of panic as they are afraid of what is happening since they have no means of seeing the state of the situation.
codes and conventions
code/convention 1
Sounds is a code/convention that conforms to the genre of thriller this is generally used to create various moods that affect the audience in various ways based on the mood that the sounds create. This is shown within the opening sequence at 2:43 in which provides the sound of panic amongst the class whilst the teacher is attempting to calm down their class without no knowledge of what is going to happen to them during this situation which keeps the audience unsure of what is to occur next with the panic of the class being the only clue.
code/convention 2
Lighting is another code/convention that conforms to the genre of thriller which is used to represent dark atmospheres to create a sense of mystery or to scare. In this case it is used to create a sense of mystery as there is a blackout that occurs this leaves the audience in a sense of confusion in a way that is uneasy as the class is in a state of fear as they dont know what has happened and are unaware of what is about to happen once the lights are back on as they make a shocking discovery. This is shown at 2:55 where the blackout happens and everyone is afraid as they can't see anything.
code/convention 3
Editing has been used as techniques such as transitions are evident within the opening sequence as they are present throughout the duration of the opening sequence this is done so that it is does not just run without the use of effects to make it look more intriguing for the audience as it will keep them interested in the entire opening sequence therefore wanting to see the entire film itself.

Development of treatment
The short film that we are creating could be turned into a series with

have multiple element that can expand the story and introduce
different character that can be able to build the story and add to the
suspense of the story making it into a more suspenseful thriller.
Product description
The product is the opening sequence for our thriller. The thriller will
include tense moment, diegetic and non diegetic sound that will
increase the suspense of our thriller. We will use close ups and mid
shots to capture the character emotion (such as facial expressions).

Evidence of saving, rendering and exporting
saving
The following image presents evidence of the opening sequence being saved once the editing stage has been completed during the post-production of the project.rendering
Evidence of rendering has been shown in the following image which is something that has been done as part of the editing stage of the post-production this has been done as part of perfecting the actual sequence itself.
Exporting
Once all the necessary alterations had been made regarding the post-production stage of the project specifically during editing on final cut pro evidence above shows the file being exported to be placed onto youtube.
